Background
Info:
Looksmart has a global reach of upto 77% of all internet
users. Their distribution partners include MSN, Alta Vista,
Infospace, DogPile, Cnet, Search.com, Netscape & Roadrunner.com
to name but a few.
Your
submissions are reviewed prior to going "live".
Your listings are displayed in the main search results,
not as "Sponsored Listings". According to
Looksmart, over 75% of all clicks occur in the main
body of search results. You do not bid for you position.
Sites are ranked via relevancy (unusual for a pay per
click search engine) and there is a flat fee of $0.15
per click. This is a major advantage if you are in an
competitive industry where bids regularly go over $0.15
per click. This is a major disadvantage if you are a
small business that cannot afford to pay $0.15 per click

The
Verdict : Recommended
Looksmart's approach to pay per click advertising is
unique and depending on your industry and marketing
budget, using Looksmart could be an advantage or disadvantage.
You get ranked via relevancy and pay only $0.15 per
click when some keywords get bids of upto and over $2.00
per click on some other search engines. On the other
hand, some novice webmasters cannot justify paying $0.15
for every click. They do require a minimum monthly spend
of $15 (which is 100 targetted hits at $0.15) and you
have to pay a $49 fee to edit your listing after the
first thirty days. If you can justify the costs, we
highly recommend using Looksmart.
