Sprinks
To Provide Content-Targeted Sponsored Links To
Three America Online Brands
New
York, NY - Sprinks,
an About, Inc. company, a division of PRIMEDIA
(NYSE: PRM), announced today an agreement with
America Online, Inc., the world's leading interactive
services company, that will bring Sprinks'
pay-per-click, content-targeted sponsored links
to areas within Netscape, CompuServe, and the
AOL® Instant Messenger Service.
The
new agreement will integrate Sprinks'
ContentSprinks offering into Netscape, CompuServe
and the AOL Instant Messenger service. ContentSprinks
allows advertisers to bid for sponsored links
placement on relevant editorial pages. The agreement
also provides AOL with the right to integrate
the DirectSprinks
offering into Netscape, CompuServe and AIM. DirectSprinks
allows advertisers to bid for premium placement
through content-targeted listings in various opt-in
newsletters. Sprinks
gives advertisers a system to buy and create text
ads specifically for content pages and email newsletters.
Additionally, advertisers can manage and edit
the distinct campaigns and receive reporting that
delineates results for either of the Sprinks
sponsored links offerings.
Joel
Davidson, Executive Vice President of AOL Web
Properties, said: "Advertisers are always
looking for the most targeted placement, while
consumers are constantly seeking information to
help them make informed decisions about products
and services. This agreement with Sprinks
offers us an effective way to present highly relevant
advertising to improve our user experience across
these three important AOL brands. Sprinks
brings with it a heritage in content publishing
that translates into a unique product that provides
advertisers a great way to reach the consumers
who are likely to seek their services."
"Sprinks
is the only bid-based, pay-per-click network built
expressly to deliver highly relevant advertising
to content pages and email newsletters, and Netscape,
CompuServe and AOL Instant Messenger are some
of the best and most respected brands in cyberspace.
I am excited that we can form this great new agreement
with America Online to extend our distribution
network for advertisers," said Lance Podell,
General Manager, Sprinks.
ContentSprinks
and DirectSprinks
were developed and proven on About.com, the Web's
largest original content site. After much advertiser
demand, Sprinks launched an external publisher
network that now includes Forbes, CBS MarketWatch,
CNET Networks, iVillage, eUniverse, Burst! Media,
advertising.com and AOL Web Properties.
